Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology

Since 1911, the University has grown to impact every facet of our region. In 1922, the first agriculture program was established with the creation of the Biology and Agriculture Department. Nearly 20 years later, the vision for a farm laboratory started among business leaders and ranchers on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley. Today, Fresno State remains poised to address all facets of the rapidly changing agricultural industry and its intersection with emerging science and technology research. Only at a uniquely situated educational institution – located in the heart of California’s Central Valley, where 80% of agricultural production originates – can students from all walks of life pursue their passion for agriculture while gaining critical, hands-on skills in a state-of-the-art, 1,000-acre laboratory located right in their own backyard.
