Questions and Answers

Below you will find answers to many common questions about Day Of Giving 2025.

What is Day of Giving?

Day of Giving is an online day of giving and connecting. Alumni and friends everywhere are coming together to support what we’re most proud of at Fresno State. As part of this day, all alumni, students, faculty, staff, fans and friends of the university are encouraged to support and celebrate the Fresno State programs and projects they believe in.

Why should I give today rather than some other day?

Today only, fellow philanthropic partners have put forward matching and challenge gifts to help increase the impact of gifts. So no matter the size of your gift, you will make an even greater difference.

What is a matching gift?

Matching gifts are funded by philanthropic partners and create opportunities to leverage your support for the area that you believe in. These may include goals for a certain number of people to donate within a certain period of time or to donate a certain amount, which will unlock additional funding for the area.

How do I give?

Go to dayofgving.fresnostate.edu to easily support all colleges, schools, units, sports, and many life-changing programs and initiatives as well.

Can I donate anonymously?

Yes. If you choose to give anonymously, your name will not be publicized on the Day of Giving supporters list.

Can I give to more than one area?

Yes, you can make multiple gifts when you check out. Make sure to select "Add a Donation" on the gift menu to select the other areas you would like to support. Your card will only be charged once for the sum of your donations.

What are Day of Giving gifts used for?

That's up to our philanthropic partners! Gifts made on Day of Giving are used to support the areas the philanthropic partner specifies. Gifts can only be used for the purpose they are designated and 100% of charitable gifts go directly to the fund account designated by the philanthropic partner.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Please contact your tax advisor with any specific questions concerning the deductibility of your contribution for federal or state income tax purposes.  The Fresno State Foundation provides no goods or services in exchange for this gift unless otherwise noted.
