Since 1911, the University has grown to impact every facet of our region. Today, the Division of Research and Graduate Studies supports 48 master's degree programs, three doctoral degree programs and nine certificates of advanced study. In addition to degree programs, the division provides leadership and professional assistance to faculty, students and staff in pursuit of research and contract activities. On the strength of significant growth in research activities in recent years, Fresno State has been elevated to “Doctoral University — High Research Activity,” or R2 status, according to the most recent Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Only 14 California universities share this designation, including seven universities in the California State University system.
Our 2,000+ graduate students at Fresno State are involved in rigorous academic programs and original research: conducting field and laboratory work and presenting at conferences. Your gift to the Graduate Student Success Fund will go towards helping these students with research through conferences (travel or conference fees) and providing a sense of place in the Graduate Student Success Center. We welcome you to be part of their academic success!
