Hub of Digital Transformation and Innovation: Technology, Innovation and Student Success
The Hub of Digital Transformation and Innovation (DXI) strives to inspire students to apply their education toward developing innovative solutions to real-world problems using the best and latest technologies to ensure that Fresno State and community partners throughout the Central Valley can perform at the highest level.
Your gift will support student success through:
- Internships for Fresno State students interested in exploring emerging technology at DXI. Each student intern will receive the opportunity to work on technology-empowered projects in an interdisciplinary, group-style setting utilizing cutting-edge technology to solve real-life issues.
- Technology, equipment and other costs associated with developing and building out the Digital Innovation and Solutions center on Fresno State's campus. Students will be encouraged to explore, innovate and create with emerging technologies to enhance their learning experience and will receive opportunities to work side-by-side with technology companies in the Silicon Valley and beyond.
The Hub supports Fresno State's mission to boldly educate and empower students for success by providing innovative tools and technologies that support opportunities for students to lead projects and work collaboratively. Your generous gift will allow these student interns to apply what they learn in the classroom and become equipped with essential skills necessary in their careers after graduation.
Project Ignite - An innovative, solution centered program
Project Ignite is a campus-wide technology innovation program for students developed by Technology Services Digital Transformation Team in partnership with the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The program is designed to promote interdisciplinary student involvement, creativity and exploration of new technologies and business model development skills.
Project Ignite hosts an annual Innovation Hackathon for students from various disciplines to collaborate in the creation of viable technological solutions designed to help solve current, real-life problems experienced by our community and/or business partners. Students will have the opportunity to represent Fresno State in a nation-wide competition should they be selected as a finalist in the competition. Your gift will support the creation, development and implementation of the winning ideas selected from the Project Ignite competition; including workshops, purchase of equipment and people support needed to transform student ideas into reality.
Donors have the opportunity to participate in the process as well by submitting their own ideas and challenges to the Project Ignite competition, providing our students with opportunities to develop and build out a viable plan of implementation from start to finish. This is how student ideas can become real life solutions for our community and help interns obtain hands-on experience and opportunities for their future career paths.
