Since 1911, the University has grown to impact every facet of our region. As the oldest publicly-supported engineering college in the San Joaquin Valley, engineering at Fresno State was initiated in 1922 with just 35 students. In 1979, geomatics became the first program of its kind in the United States and continues to be the only four-year, nationally-accredited program in California. For a century, Lyles College graduates have propelled this region forward through innovation and design, succeeding in both public and private sectors, as presidents and CEOs, engineers, constructors, astronauts, innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs and more.
Student success extends beyond the classroom and course grades – it also includes experiential learning through workshops and activities for professional and career development. Your generous gift to our Student Success Fund will support communication workshops, resume writing, speed networking, industry round tables and more. It will also provide financial support for students to receive supplementary instruction and attend industry tours.
