Since 1911, the University has grown to impact every facet of our region. In 1922, the first program in agriculture was established with the creation of the Biology and Agriculture Department. Nearly 20 years later, the vision for a farm laboratory started among business leaders and ranchers on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley. Today, Fresno State remains poised to address all facets of the rapidly changing agricultural industry and its intersection with emerging science and technology research. Only at a uniquely situated educational institution – located in the heart of California’s Central Valley, where 80% of agricultural production originates – can students from all walks of life pursue their passion for agriculture while gaining critical, hands-on skills in a state-of-the-art, 1,000-acre laboratory located right in their own backyard.
The Dean's Fund for Excellence is a strategic fund providing essential support where it’s needed most. By supporting this fund, you’re helping students gain hands-on education in one of the richest agricultural valleys in the world.
Students manage and work on 22 campus crops, livestock, vineyard and food processing enterprises and learn on the 1,000-acre University Agricultural Laboratory (Campus Farm). The Farm Fund will provide the resources necessary to promote student-learning and research within the Jordan College.
Higher education is the key to creating opportunities, changing lives and impacting communities. Your investment helps shape and transform the next generation of leaders by providing scholarships to declared agriculture majors.
