The mobile unit travels across the San Joaquin Valley twice a week, stopping at rural and underserved communities to provide free screenings and health education to those who cannot afford or easily access care. The mobile program engages students and faculty across campus and provides hands-on learning experiences in real-world settings. Since it first rolled out in fall 2015, the mobile unit has served over 5,000 clients and provided nearly 600 students with invaluable clinical and service-learning opportunities. Your gift will help the College of Health and Human Services continue this important program, which is 100% funded by community support.
Our Student Success fund supports important college initiatives like student/faculty stipends, research and special projects. This year, your gift will support students engaging in international travel to learn about global health best practices that can be applied to the health issues facing the Central Valley. By giving to this fund, you are directly contributing to the academic success of our students.
Our Athletics Training and Treatment Lab is a hub for education and research within our Department of Kinesiology. Focused on athletic health care delivery, the facility trains students for careers in k-12 schools, universities and rehabilitation clinics across the region. Many graduates also go on to work in the sports industry. Your gift will help develop the Training and Treatment Lab by providing new equipment and programs, ensuring students are skilled practitioners entering the workforce.
